11/11/2023 0 Comments Hotel indigo san diego tripadvisor![]() You would not know they allow dogs there, because it is so clean. It is reasonably priced for the location. So I needed a dog friendly hotel, close to the ocean, and without breaking the bank. I wanted to spend the day at the beach in Del Mar with my dog. Therefore, we caution folks to avoid room 316. Their reviews certainly did not match our experience. The other reviewers didn't seem to have the problems we encountered with our room. Should a guest have to check the alarm clock to make sure it is not set or should the staff make sure everything is in proper working order for the next guest? The computer worked in the business center. The previous occupier of the room set the alarm for 5AM. The hotel is a long walk downhill to the beach area and several blocks into Del Mar village. We did not try out the hot tub or swimming pool due to cool weather. The wait was ok and the price seemed high for the quantity of food received. At check out, there were 3 people ahead of us and only one desk clerk. The front desk had one employee at check in desk and no valet. The plus for the room was a comfortable bed and a working TV. My wife lamented that there wasn't a chest of drawers or adequate drawer space to unpack our modest amound of luggage. The maid did not provide clean cups or new coffee after we used what we had. To make a cup of coffee, we had to put the coffee maker on the floor to plug it in. The cord was too short to reach the electric wall outlet under the counter. There was a complimentary coffee maker placed on top of a new counter. In the bathroom, the shower door did not close to a tight fit and the sink stopper appeared broken-or maybe, it was just out of place? We paid $170 for each night, which seemed high for the smallness of the room and the modesty of amenities. So sound and light easily enter the room, making a totally dark and quiet room impossible to achieve. Thirdly, there is no molding around the front door. We tried to close our entry door quietly, but the latches don't allow you to do so. Whenever a person comes or goes, it sounds like the door is being slammed. Secondly, the doors do not close quietly. We could hear every step of the persons walking above. Unfortunately, if you are staying on the bottom story of the two story building, a person walking on the upstairs wood floor sounds very loud. The remodeled appearance is excellent, but there are utilitarian flaws. We stayed at this hotel for four days, so we had plenty of time to decide that we will probably try another property next time. ![]() We paid $170 for each night, which seemed high for the smallness of the room and the modesty of amenities.
